Hi, everyone! This is Tom.
I’m a car enthusiast, mechanical engineer, and YouTuber, and I’m passionate about helping other car enthusiasts become successful and overcome the same struggles I’ve had with personal finances.
Growing up in a middle-class family that didn’t teach me about money, I had poor financial habits that led me to doom-spending and accumulating credit card debt. Four years after graduating with my Mechanical Engineering degree, I had $0 in savings, $0 in retirement, and $12,000 in credit card debt. It was at this point that I decided to change. I learned better money habits and developed a plan to increase my income and decrease my spending.
Three years later, I bought a house, reached $100k of savings, and decided I wanted to be a mentor for other car enthusiasts going through the same struggle. It is incredibly tough not to be a broke car enthusiast when you let ego control your decisions and you lack financial knowledge. Cars are an expensive hobby and there’s so much ego in the car scene. Some people with $60k salaries are getting $80k loans for vehicles because they want to impress other people. This is just one example of why I want to be a voice in this community.
